# How to Add and Delete an Interstitial via the Hub

## Prerequisites

Before any interstitial can be added, the associated images need to be uploaded to the media library.

Images should ideally have the format **1532 × 2048** (portrait) and **2048 × 1532** (landscape).

You need an account that is in the corresponding team in the Purple Manager, with at least **Hub Editor** permissions.

Interstitials for your Hub need to be activated by the Purple Team and the correct choices for "Edition" and "Before Pages" need to be configured in the Interstitial settings.

## Create a New Interstitial

1. Click on **"ePaper Interstitials" in the left sidebar**
2. Click on **"Add new"**
3. Enter the interstitial information

1. **Portrait Image** *(Required)* — Insert an interstitial image (ideally 1532 × 2048 px). You can upload a local image or select one from the media library. 
   **Landscape Image** *(Optional)* — An image in landscape format (ideally 2048 × 1532 px) can also be inserted.
2. **Target URL** *(Optional)* — The URL that opens when the user clicks/taps the interstitial image. Leave blank for non-clickable display ads.
3. **Start Date** *(Required)* — The first date this interstitial should be active. The date is inclusive — issues whose publication date matches the start date will include the interstitial.
4. **End Date** *(Required)* — The last date this interstitial should be active. Also inclusive.
5. **Publications** *(Optional)* — Select specific publications for targeted delivery. Use CTRL+click (Windows) or CMD+click (Mac) to select multiple entries. If no publication is selected, the interstitial applies to **ALL** publications.
6. **Page Position** *(Required)* — The page of the issue before which the interstitial is inserted. If page 2 is selected, the interstitial is inserted before page 2 of the issue. In the case of multiple bookings on the same page (via several entries), only the interstitial set up first is displayed.
7. **Title** *(Required)* — Displayed in the list of interstitials. It is recommended to include the date/period and the customer or topic in the title.
8. **Channel** — "Purple DS App & Web" must be activated. The "Interstitials" feed and "Publish after release" must be selected (this should already be the case by default).
9. **Publish** — Click **"Publish to 1 Channel"** to publish the interstitial.

✅ The interstitial is now created and appears in the overview display. If an issue is imported that fulfils the conditions (publication period and publication), the interstitial is inserted.

💡 If the interstitial is created after the actual publication date, a re-import via the Importer Managing Tool can retroactively insert the interstitial.

## Delete an Interstitial

There are two options:

### Option 1 — Delete the Entry

1. Select the desired interstitial(s) using the checkbox (multiple can be selected)
2. Click **"Delete"**

### Option 2 — Save as Draft (Template)

1. Deactivate the **"Purple DS App & Web"** channel
2. Click **"Save as Draft"**

⚠️ If the interstitial has already been inserted into an issue, it must now be re-imported for the removal to take effect.
