### Data & authentication module

Support for

- DPA Authentication (2023-03-01)

### Call handling

Define the type of call (GET or POST) and add additional arguments to the call if wanted or needed.

### Author handling

- **Assign it to importing user** – The article will be assigned to the user who triggered the import
- **Assign to imported author** – Uses the author name from the wire feed. If the PublishPress Authors plugin is active, this creates/matches a guest author; otherwise it matches against existing WordPress users
- **Select a specific author** – Choose a specific author from the dropdown list. When PublishPress Authors is active, the list shows PPMA authors (including guest authors); otherwise it shows WordPress users

### Import handling

**Source type** can be set manually to try a successful fetching of an unknown source.

**Article type after import** can be set to

- 'Purple Wires Preview' – standard type that allows every article to be reviewed and added to the article list by hand
- Post – use fetched articles automatically as Hub articles
- any other custom post type that was defined “public” will show up here

**Article state after import** is 'fetched' for 'Purple Wires Preview' or 'draft', 'pending' or 'publish' \* for any other post type.

**Assign all articles to category** assigns every fetched article to an existing Hub category.

*\*Automatic publishing is only working with new 'Background publish' option. *

**Enable update detection (check for modified articles based on content hash): **Based on the configured ID, content updates in the feed are recognized and the post gets updated.

:::hint{type="danger"}
Warning: Any manual changes to imported posts will be overwritten when updates are detected in the feed!

This means: Don't activate this option when you plan to manually edit posts that got imported with this source. Any update to the post in the feed will overwrite all your manual edits.
:::

### Conditional import

**Import only articles with source category**

**Import only articles with source keyword/tag**

Both fields allow a configuration of articles, that will be fetched if they match the condition(s). The matching will be done at the end of content conversion so if there is a conditional setup creating the categories, it will be matched on that created ones.

Matching can be done by single words that will be combined with an OR-connection or words combined by '+'-Sign

### Automatic fetching

Setup interval for automatic fetching.
