Upload Limits
The default upload limit for media in the Purple Hub is 100 Megabyte an. This can be adjusted for different filetypes on the following screen:
This screen can be opened by clicking on Settings -> Media -> General.
Here it is possible to enter upload limits for images, videos, audio and documents separately. After clicking save, the values are applied for new assets. The configured values cannot exceed the general limit of 100 Megabytes.
The allowed filetypes are clustered in the following way:
- Image: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, webp, tif, tiff
- Video: mov, avi, mpg, 3gp, 3g2, mp4, m4v, webm, ogv, flv
- Audio: midi, mid, mp3, ogg, flac, m4a, wav
- Document: pdf, doc, ppt, odt, pptx, docx, pps, ppsx, xls, xlsx, key, txt, ics, csv, json, eps, psd, zip, ai
- withe Print Images setting activated, this also includes psd, tiff ai, eps, and indd files
Print files are always allowed up to 100 Megabytes, even if a lower limit is configured for the filetype cluster they fall into. This applies both to print files uploaded to the media library and to print versions attached to an existing image.
There is a default limit of width and/or height of 2560 pixels for images uploaded to the Hub. Changing this limit can only be done by Purple admins, because wrongly set values could lead to problems. All images that exceed the set limit are automatically scaled down to match this restriction during upload.
With the Print Images setting activated, the original full-resolution upload is no longer discarded: it is kept and attached to the downscaled image as its print version, so it stays available for print use.
