Action URLs and Deep linking
This article informs you about the possibilities of controlling your Purple App. Some features/behaviours of your app can be explicitly controlled and thus triggered by using action URLs. These action URLs can be used in many different places. They are either triggered within your app (e.g. the app menu, within an HTML file or within your storefront) or pushed into your app from outside (e.g. through push or in-app messages).
For further consideration, we first define two terms at this point:
- Action URL and
- Deep link
Basically, both terms describe an action URL. We use the term action URL when triggered from within the app and deep link when used from outside the app to trigger a feature/behaviour within the app. However, a deep link into an app is typically a link to the apps content. Maybe to an article or an issue.
A list of all action URLs supported by a Purple App can be found in the article List of Action URLs overview.
A description of the use of action URLs as deep links and how an action URL must be adapted for this can be found in the article Deep linking
