In this article, we guide you through some basic information about tracking and provide some answers to frequently asked questions.

This is by no means a complete or thorough guide, and there may sometimes be links to more information in our documentation or the provider's public documentation.

In general, GA4 only tracks information from the website.

However, if you also have Firebase implemented and running on the same Google account, Google Analytics 4 will also show data from Firebase, though with quite some delay.

## How to determine the amount of Web vs App users

Navigate to reports (1) and click on "Add Comparison" (2)

Select all options you want to have differentiated in this report

GA4 will now split the numbers based on their device

If you want to have different data displayed, you can edit the displayed data for a given report. See [here](https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/10659091) for more information.

## How to find out on how many devices the app is installed?

Google Analytics 4 has some events that are in their standard tracking configuration, and one of them is "first\_open". This event is sent when a user opens the app for the first time after installing it (again).

The web equivalent is "first\_visit" (also mentioned in the linked page above).

## Where can I see the parameters that are being sent by the app?

Unfortunately, parameters are only directly visible in the 30 minute realtime overview under "reports".
