In the past, Experience allowed displaying an entire view inside a popup with the popup action. However, such modals will be deprecated and will not be supported in the future.

The recommended alternative is to use a normal navigation action. In this documentation, we will show how to migrate from modals to normal navigation using the Issue Details view as an example.

## Current Configuration

### Popup action

:::CodeblockTabs
```json
{
    "path": "issueDetails",
    "type": "popup",
    "params": {
        "content": "$context.content.id"
    }
}
```

```none
```
:::

## New Configuration

### Navigation action

```json
{
    "path": "issueDetails",
    "type": "navigate",
    "params": {
        "content": "$context.content.id"
    }
}
```

### App Bar configuration

When migrating, you'll usually find that the original issue details view doesn’t have an app bar configured. Configure an existing one to the view, or create a new one for that view.

Add the app bar to the issue details view:

```json
{
    "name": "issue-details", // name of your issue details view
    "path": "issueDetails", // path of your issue details view
    "appBar": "back"
    /* the rest of the view */
}
```
