Customize the Block-menu for articles in Purple Hub
Purple Hub
In this article, you will learn to customise the block menu so that it displays only the blocks that are either used most frequently or that are more relevant for your everyday needs. This feature allows you to mix regular WordPress blocks from the Gutenberg Editor with reusable blocks. You can create a combination of your own blocks and reuse the same blocks for an article type, like an intro page.
- Have an Administrator Role in Purple Hub
You find the option under Settings in the left-hand side menu bar → Purple Hub
The name of the setting is: Customize displayed editor blocks. Here, you can enable/disable the feature by activating the checkbox. For configuring the block menu, we advise you to request the changes to be realized from our Purple Team.
The following configurations are possible:
- Have custom sections (blocks are grouped by names)
- Blocks have a given order
- Blocks have a name and icon
- Mix blocks, reusable blocks and block pattern
- Custom menu for adding blocks from the top bar and within the content (same menu entries)
For using the feature in your WordPress User Interface, go to 'Purple Feed' and open an 'Article'
In the article, click on the + icon in the upper left-hand corner. The block menu opens, and you can find your selection of customised blocks. In this example, there are blocks like “Cover” or “Intro”, which is a combination of several blocks for reusing each time you want to create a page the same way as you already did before.
