Populate specific ACF fields

4min

Summary

Purple Prompts can be used to dynamically populate specific ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) fields. This feature enables users to generate content from their posts, such as social media messages or any other field-specific text, and insert it seamlessly into predefined ACF fields.

How it works

In the Prompt Management screen, prompts can be linked to a specific ACF field. When the prompt is triggered, the generated content will be directly inserted into the selected field, simplifying workflows and reducing manual input.

How to use

  1. Create or Edit a Purple Prompt
    • In Prompt Management, use Define new prompt (or edit an existing prompt)
    • Under Prompt Settings > Use Prompt As, select the Generate ACF Field option.
    • Under Prompt Settings > ACF Field Target, select the desired ACF Field (for example "RSS").
    • Fill out the other required fields, then save the prompt.
  2. Use the new prompt
    • From the post overview, create a new article or select an existing article.
    • If the article contains the ACF Field, the Purple Prompts sidebar will show a button for the prompt created in the first step.
    • Click the prompt button to generate content as per the prompt definition.
    • Click Accept to fill the custom ACF Field with the generated text.
