uploading images upload images by clicking on "upload media" and then either drag'n'drop your images or click and select the files by browsing your filesystem media upload screen bulk edit metadata after uploading your files, you can edit the metadata that should be set for all of your uploaded media files here you can enter title, alt text, caption and descriptiont additionally it is possible to select media categories if available and additional metafields that are configured for your attachments after you have entered all metadata (leave the fields empty you don't want to change) click on "save" to actually upload the media files to the hub if you click on cancel, no files will be uploaded supported file types purple dam accepts the following file types images jpeg, png, webp, gif, svg video mp4, mov, webm audio mp3, wav, ogg, m4a documents pdf print images docid\ lfwf bbbygycztmy81wpm psd, tiff, ai, eps, indd (via ppi plugin — see below) uploading files open the media library click the upload button in the top right corner drag and drop files into the upload area, or click choose files to browse optionally fill in shared metadata (title prefix, caption, alt text) before confirming click upload shared metadata is applied to all files in the batch individual fields can be edited per asset afterwards in the image detail view psd and tiff files (ppi plugin) if the ppi plugin is active on your instance, uploading a psd or tiff file is handled automatically the file is converted to a web optimised webp on upload the webp becomes the main image shown in the media library and in articles the original psd/tiff is stored as the print images docid\ lfwf bbbygycztmy81wpm attachment — no manual step needed target article ⭐ during upload, you can assign a target article to link uploaded files to a specific article linked files will appear first in the media sidebar when the media library is opened from within that article alternatively, the media is shown prominently when opening the insert image media library use case the target article functionality is especially helpful in the following scenario a sports photographer has created photos of the football game the sports writer needs to write the article, therefore also has to select images to go with the article the article has been drafted, but not yet written the photographer uploads their complete set of images, including the pdf of the official program to purple dam and targets the article for which they should be used because all the media is targeted to the article, the editor can easily browse through them in the media sidebar and insert media dialog in the editor how it works in the upload dialog, click the target article field type to search for an article and select it complete the upload as normal multiple articles can be assigned to the same media item the target can also be changed later in the image detail view ℹ️ note target article requires purple dam plus docid\ q2 fg1ax3roq7tztthrmp
