Purple Apps
If you want to test a Purple Preview App, you can do so by scanning the app's QR code in Purple Manager with your device to download it to your smartphone or tablet. This mechanism allows you to try out your Purple app, or the latest changes you have made to it before it is submitted to the app stores and made available to the public. The same mechanism also works for your release app in Purple Manager.
- Have a QR Code reader enabled on your mobile device
- For distribution to an iOS device, have the P12 certificate created in the App Store and stored in Purple Manager
- For distribution to an iOS device, have the provisioning profile created in the App Store and stored in Purple Manager
- In your browser, go to Purple Manager → 'Apps' → 'Overview'
- In your browser, scan the QR code with the camera of your mobile device
3. On your mobile device, tab on 'Install'
- As a customer only install Apps builds which do not have a build certificate stored. These are exclusively used by sprylab devices for development and testing purposes. For your test build the AdHoc Provisioning profiles from the App Store is being used, which contains the device ids of all your test devices.
- As a sprylab internal user, select 'iOS test build certificate'. This is the profile we at sprylab can use to install apps on our iOS test devices.
4. On your mobile device, tab on 'Install'
- You may be asked to trust 'sprylab technologies' as a developer. You can read more on Apple's website.
- If you have already installed this app (or another version) on the test device, a message will appear stating that the app is already installed. To reinstall the app anyway, please delete the existing app from your device and start again with the download and installation of the new app version.
You have successfully downloaded the Purple App to your mobile device, and you can now test it.
